About me
Understand your emotions. Transform your life.
After overcoming significant challenges in my early life, I began my formal education six years later than my peers. Despite this, I earned admission to Istanbul University’s Faculty of Literature in 2002—marking the beginning of a path defined by resilience, curiosity, and transformation. Following graduation, I launched my professional career as a script editor in the television industry.
Motherhood became the turning point that reshaped both my life and career. At 33, after a traumatic cesarean birth, I experienced postpartum depression—an experience that led me into a profound personal healing journey. This transformation inspired my first book, Therapy Diaries, and ultimately guided me toward the field of psychology. The birth of my second child further deepened my commitment to understanding the emotional roots of human experience.
Driven by a desire to understand the connection between mind, body, and inherited patterns, I earned my Master’s degree in Applied Psychology from Üsküdar University in 2016. My research focused on epigenetics and intergenerational trauma, areas that continue to shape my work today. After relocating to California, I continued my academic development at Sierra College and am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at California State University, Sacramento.
My work integrates modern psychology with holistic and cross-disciplinary approaches. I have trained with internationally recognized experts including Dr. Cem Keçe, Dr. Bülent Uran, Mark Wolynn, Prof. Dr. Vamık Volkan, and Dr. Gabor Maté. I am certified in multiple modalities, including EMDR, Psychotherapy, Family and Couples Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Bach Flower Remedies, and Compassionate Inquiry. I also completed advanced training in neuroscience-based parenting through the Jai Institute.
Today, I work as a psychologist, EMDR practitioner, family counselor, parenting consultant, and psychoastrologer. My approach bridges science and deeper emotional insight, helping individuals understand how unresolved emotional patterns and inherited trauma influence both mental and physical health.
I am the author of four books focused on emotional healing and family dynamics. My book Emotional Healing explores the connection between physical illness and emotional patterns through an epigenetic lens. My third book, Do Daughters Repeat Their Mothers’ Fate?, became a bestseller in Turkey in 2023. My most recent book, Invasive Mothers (2024), addresses boundary violations in parent-child relationships and offers a path toward healthier family systems.
In addition to my clinical and academic work, I am a founding member of the Holistic Women’s Health Association and the creator of the Sofia School of Wisdom—an educational platform dedicated to integrating ancient wisdom with modern psychological science.
My long-term vision is to build an international academic movement that brings epigenetics, psychology, and holistic healing into a unified framework—expanding how we understand human development, trauma, and transformation.
I am deeply committed to contributing to global mental health by helping individuals and families break generational cycles, reconnect with themselves, and create lasting change.
